The Uplifting Athletes outreach program is essential to realize our vision of empowering people to take action against rare diseases and inspiring the medical community to find cures. The most visible component of our outreach program is our network of university chapters.
We believe that college football players are in a position to make a difference. University chapters are run by current football student-athletes to mobilize their fans and the media to make rare diseases more popular.
The best part is that everybody wins. These football players gain the benefits of practical job skills by working with industry professional mentors to learn how to run their chapter. They benefit society by teaching their teammates how to leverage their abilities and assets to make a positive and lasting impact. And the end benefit? They engage their community to support a rare disease they are passionate about.
Not a college football player? That’s okay, there are plenty of ways that you can get involved, too. Click here to learn how to get involved!
