A record-breaking day at Penn State's Lift For Life.  The 8th annual event held Friday at Holuba Hall raised more than $98,461.35.  Despite the hote temperatures, more than 3,000 people cheered on the players as the rare disease community.  This year's fundraising total shattered last year's record by close to $15,000.  In 2009, Penn State's Uplifting Athletes chapter raised $83,959.89.  In the 8 years Penn State has held Lift For Life, the chapter has raised more than $500,000 for the Kidney Cancer Association.

76 current Penn State football players participated in the 11-event strength and conditioning challenge Friday.  Players were grouped in teams of 4.  OH Jersey won the event.  Winning players included: Brett Brackett, Jack Crawford, Gerald Hodges and Michael Zordich.  The 2nd place finishers were We Pay to Play and included players Derek Day, Evan Lewis, Brian Irvin and Kyle Johnson.  Finishing in third place:  Mike Farrell, Andrew Goodman, Pete Massaro and Mike Yancich from Shutter Island: Ward C.
