Rare Disease Day
Rare Disease Day is an annual initiative to unite people affected by rare diseases in effort to raise awareness on a global level and in communities across the country. Millions of people around the world observe Rare Diseases Day to push the topic of rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives and their family and friends. Rare diseases are chronic, progressive, debilitating, severe and often life-threatening. Information is scarce and research is insufficient.
The objective of Rare Disease Day 2013 is to raise awareness with policy makers and the public of rare diseases.
