Golf Tournament Benefits Kidney Cancer

On Saturday, May 21st, the Sixth Annual Mike Shimko Memorial Golf Tournament was held at Pine Hills Country Club in Taylor, PA. The tournament is held in memoriam of Mike Shimko, a Penn State alumnus and lifelong resident of Taylor. Mike passed away from kidney cancer in May of 2006.

All proceeds raised go to the Penn State chapter of Uplifting Athletes and the Kidney Cancer Association. A number of Penn State football players were in attendance for the event, including: Penn State Uplifting Athlete Vice President Eric Shrive, J.R. Refice, Ty Howle, Matt McGloin and Pat Zerbe. The event raised more than $7,000.
