The Penn State chapter of Uplifting Athletes says thank you to some of its most generous donors.  More than 30 people attended a donor appreciation luncheon on Sunday, October 9th at Penn State.  This past July, the chapter raised more than $100,000 for the Kidney Cancer Assocation at the annual "Lift For Life" competition at Holuba Hall.  This year's total was the most ever raised at the "Lift For Life" event.

The luncheon was open to anyone who donated more than $500 to that cause.  Luncheon attendees toured Beaver Stadium and the Lasch Building as well as heard from Carol Willie, an advocate for kidney cancer after her husband was diagnosed with the rare disease. The Willie family travel from Oregon each year to support "Lift For Life" and work tirelessly throughout the year to bring attention to the organization and to kidney cancer research.

Student-athletes Mike Farrell, Eric Shrive, Michael Yancich and Tyler Howle, all chapter officers, were also on hand to meet with the donors.  They are already in the process of organizing the 2012 "Lift For Life" as well as other fundraisers at the Blue-White game.
