Colgate's Winning Streak
October 21, 2011
Greetings from Colgate!
Last week a Colgate football team without their starting quarterback and running back pulled off an over time win over Cornell. We remained in control for the majority of the game until junior quarterback, Josh Hasenburg went down with a foot injury. After Josh left the game 3rd and 4th string true freshman quarterbacks, Jimmy DeCicco and Ryan Smith rotated from the middle of the third quarter on. With the younger guys behind center, the offense ran a very simplified pass free offense. The offense stalled until a pass interference penalty in over time placed us on the five yard line where Jordan McCord punched it in two plays later. The defense stood tall and deflected a pass on fourth down to wrap up Colgate's third straight win.
This week Colgate football heads down to D.C. for a two o'clock kick off against Georgetown. Georgetown is much improved from years past and we are excited to play them on their homecoming. There is always something special about winning another team's homecoming game as we looked forward to tomorrow night and our fourth straight win.
I hope you have a great weekend and I look forward to writing you next week after our win over Georgetown.
