Maryland and Penn State Football Players Compete to Raise Awareness for Rare Diseases

The Maryland and Penn State chapters of Uplifting Athletes hosted an intercollegiate college football video game tournament to raise awareness for rare diseases. "Our main objective today," said Obi Egekeze, chapter president at Maryland, "was to get this off the ground and to raise some awareness about cystic fibrosis as a rare disease." The efforts by the Penn State chapter benefitted kidney cancer as their designated rare disease.
