Dr. Sande graduated from the University of Iowa Medical Center in 2019 and is a resident physician in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His clinical focus is on pediatric pathology and hematopathology with a special interest in tumor predisposition syndromes. As such, his research is primarily centered in the development and application of diagnostic tools to investigate disease pathophysiology and improve care for patients. He also enjoys teaching trainees and students of all ages, encouraging them to pursue a career in pathology whenever possible. A “former” musician, he enjoys spending his free time making music with his husband, creating various fermented concoctions, and using pen and paper to write long letters to old friends.
