Dr. Awamleh is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. She earned her doctoral degree in biochemistry and developmental biology from Western University in Ontario, Canada in 2019 after receiving her Honors Bachelor’s degree from Western in 2013. Her doctoral research focused on epigenetics of the human placenta associated with maternal and fetal diseases of pregnancy. In late 2019, Dr. Awamleh joined the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology at The Hospital for Sick Children where she is conducting her research under the mentorship of Dr. Rosanna Weksberg, MD PhD with a focus on epigenetics in rare neurodevelopmental syndromes. Away from the lab, Dr. Awamleh enjoys hiking and being outdoors, finds solace in nature and often seeks it.
